This status was provided by
Ms. Julia Keedy, applicant's water resource engineer, to this office on August 29, 2007.
Despite the current status indicated above, the proposed supply plan is to replace depletions
caused by evaporation from up to 91.6 acres of water surface exposed after December 31, 1980, dust
suppression and the removal of water in product. According to the information submitted no water
surface was exposed prior to January 1, 1981. The plan estimates that the area of evaporation will be
the surface area of exposed ground water consisting of: 48 acres for cell 1 from August 2005 through
April 2007, 5 acres combined for cells 2 and 3 during the mining of those cells from August 2005
through February 2007 (after which production switches to Ready Mixed Pit 1), 38.6 acres for cell 2
from May 2006 through April 2007, average of 19 acres for cell 2 in May 2007 while it was dewatered
and partially backfilled, and 10 acres for cell 2 for June and July 2007.
Depletions
Consumptive use of water at the property for the period of August 2005 through July 2006
consists of 189.25 acre-feet of evaporation from the exposed water surface; 44.82 acre-feet lost in
product (4°h moisture from 1,522,300 tons of raw material mined), and 1.98 acre-feet of water used for
dust control. Consumptive use of water at the property for the period of August 2006 through July
