Davis
Rimrock Coal Company
P. 0. Box 20611
Denver. CO 80220
Dear Mr. Davis:
•
I have reviewed the blasting plan and request to mine up to 50 feet
from the gas line located on your mining property. It is felt that as long
as your operation commits: (1) that there will be no blasting closer than
50 feet to our line; and (2) the weight of the explosives will be kept to
the recommended power law equation as described by Lewicki and Associates
as per the attached report; and (3) you will keep, ground vibration at the
gas line location under 8 inches per second; the proposed blasting is
acceptable. We understand that you will provide the seismograph and
monitoring personnel for the work described in the blasting plan to measure
3 test blasts at distances of 250, 100 and 50 feet from the gas line, and
will advise us, in advance, of the blasting test schedule. We also have
the right to inspect any part of the blasting operations at any time to
verify that the conditions outlined in the plan are being met.
Sincerely,
~~~y
len Hatfield~P-7
Vice President, Engineering
Enclosure: Lewicki and Associates Report
•
