The main charnel of the River is the ..urgent low water
channel. During hick water (sprirc runoff May and June;.
the Rive: floods the bar to be mined through the high water
channels depicted on Exhibit E. These than..^.els are between.
2 and 3 feet higher than the low water charnel elevation.
If the River were to change course, it woul3 be to one
of these channels and mcst likely the channel which starts
at survey point GTR-20 (channel furthest east;. The channel

channel presently carries apprcximately 1;5 of the spring
runcff flood water and this will not change due to mining.
The 2 tc 5 feet of gravel removed by mining will effectively
lessen the flood potential to the area east and north of the
Permit area. °y removing the 2 to 5 feet o: gravel and
creatinc a flat, slightly northwest dip to the pit bottom,
the flood :raters which are normally contained within a 5 tc
10 foot wide flood channel will be spread over a 300 foot
wide bench, and will be directed away from the eastern and
rortherr. banks by the northwest and west dips of the pit
bottom. During .,.~. ~ng, overall total flow rates or. the
P.iver will not be changed. The 3 to 1 slope cn the northern
end cf the pit area will act as a drop structure, slowing
the flows before they leave the permit area and flowing onto
the Imhoff property. They will stop any channel scouring.
