Three new sedimentation structures (Deer Gulch, West Pyeatt Gulch and Far
East Buzzard Gulch), all NPDES locations, will be constructed in 1991. The pond(s) wnstruction is neces-
sary in order to control all potential sediment e(Cluent from our mining and reclamation activities.
In addition to new pond construction, the spillway design o1 two existing sedimentation structures, both in
Johnson Gulch (ponds 9 and 10), will he modified. Prior to spillway modification (rebuild), the ponds will
be dewatered, allowing sate and dry working conditions for Trapper personnel and a controlled discharge of
the retained water. Trapper will make every effort to ensure water quality paramctcrs arc not cxccedcd
during the dewatering o[ Johnson Gulch pond #~ 10 (NPDES site 001).
Kathryn, we are working closely with the CMLRD on all proposed construction activity. We will keep you
informed if there are any significant deviations in our proposed activity.
Besi~rejgaLrds,
~~~ v~.1:~G~~~~r~r~
William Agnew
Sr. Environmental Engineer
WArb
1CDOHIMAY]7J
J.M.
