Based on
information from the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) that you provided and a
conversation with a representative from CU3A~'iEIGY Corporation's Envvonmental
Safety and Compliance Section, the Division carrot endorse use of Aquaane at this
time. Both the MSDS and the manufacturer do not recommend Aquaane for use
in a discharging pond. The MSDS further discourages agricultural use of treated
water until after a twelve month detoxification period.
The Division suggests that you explore other possible options for dealing with the
algae problem in your settling ponds.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter
call me at 331538.
If you have any questions, please
Sincerely,
~. ~ ~
~.7 ~~ ~~~~~r~ ~~~:~C~
Ame Ihlenfeldt
Industrial Enforcement Engineer
Permits and Enforcement Section
WATER QUALITY CONTROL DIVISION
ce: Jim Chubrilo, D.E., Field Support Section
Pat Nelson, WQCD
MS-3
N ynv.J an .rryd~,lrvyv.
