Lnng <br />Drnsion D,rCC10! <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology is reviewing Agile Stone System's application for a regular (I 12) <br />Reclamation Permit to mine granite, gravel, and limestone at their proposed Parkdale Project. We have received letters <br />from individuals indicating that they are objecting to approval of [he application. <br />When the Division receives timely written objections to a permit application, a hearing process is started. The first step <br />is an Informal Conference which will be held at the Canon City Council Chambers at 612 Royal Gorge Boulevard, <br />Canon City, at 1:00 p.m.. September l8, 1997, H. Bruce Humphries, Minerals Program Supervisor, will conduct the <br />meeting. <br />At the Informal Conference, each person objecting to approval of the application will be able [o present their grounds <br />for objecting, and the applicant and anyone suppotting the application will have time to present grounds necessary to <br />support issuance of a Reclamation Permit to mine and reclaim the proposed projec! site. <br />Any interested person may participate in the Informal Conference by submitting written comments or by appearing in <br />person. <br />The Division will report on [he status of the permit review, discuss the types of issues the Mined Land Reclamation <br />Board (MLRB) will consider a[ the final hearing, and discuss the remainder of the review and heazing process. <br />Agile Stone Systems has requested Ihat the decision date on their application be changed from October 6, 1997 to the <br />November 19-20, 1997 MLRB meeting. <br />Please contact me if you have questions <br />Sincerely, <br />r/ G! <br />v~~~Y <br />Larry D Oehler <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />cc: H.
