Water Resource Management Plan <br /> ' BESTWAY PAVING COMPANY <br /> Greeley, Colorado <br /> I' INTRODUCTION <br /> The Bestway Paving Company of Greeley, Colorado proposes <br /> (' to mine the gravel resources underlying a portion of the north- <br /> east quarter of Section 2 , Township 5 North, Range 66 West, situated <br /> I northwest of the City of Greeley, Colorado. A vicinity <br /> f map attached as Exhibit 1 indicates the location of the pro- <br /> posed gravel operation. <br /> I ' A detailed description of the proposed mining plan has. <br /> been developed as a separate set of documents prepared by R.V. <br /> Lord and Associates of Boulder, Colorado. The purpose of this <br /> I' t report is to supplement the mining plan in such matters as <br /> i hydrology, water resources and water rights considerations . <br /> The proposed gravel mine operation will affect the local <br /> I, and regional hydrology in a variety of ways . Among these are <br /> a possible drawdown of the ground water table in the vicinity <br /> of adjacent wells , and both a short-term and long-term effect <br /> on streamflow of - the Cache la Poudre River. <br /> The foundation of the water-supply plan for the gravel <br /> mine is a Plan for Augmentation filed with the District Court <br /> in and for Water Division No. 1 in Greeley, Colorado pursuant <br /> 1, to statutory provisions for water right determination and <br /> administration. This report will provide supporting hydrologic, <br /> Lengineering and water-use data for the Plan for .Augmentation <br /> included herein as Exhibit 2 , which has been assigned Case No. <br /> W- 8640-77 by the Water Court. <br /> L' The analysis , computations and interpretations provided in <br /> this report have been based upon data obtained from a variety <br /> � . of sources . Among these sources are published climatological <br /> data, information on water deliveries available in the office <br /> 1 -1- <br />
