• III Illllllllllll III ~ <br />~- <br />EXHIBIT D <br />MINING PLAN <br />Mining will begin by stripping overburden from approximately ten acres on <br />the north edge of the pit area. This will be stockpiled for use in reclamation. <br />Small brush will be included with the overburden to assist in ravegetation. <br />Large trees and brush will be cut and disposed of by burial or as firewood. <br />A plant and stockpile area on the east side of the property wild be prepared. <br />A haul road to the Interstate 70 frontage road will be constructed. <br />Dewatering of the mining area will be accomplished by trenching the stripped <br />area and installing a pump. Discharge will be into Yi~e Colorado River. <br />A Discharge Permit Application has been made. No adverse effect on the <br />River is expected, in that the discharge water is part of the river water <br />regime. <br />Excavation of the sand and gravel will be done by front end loader or backhoe, <br />loaded into trucks and hauled to the plant and stockpile area for processing. <br />Mining will be done to the full depth of usable material, approximately <br />eighteen feet below the present ground surface. <br />The total affected area of this permit is 69 acres. <br />
