A schematic of a
generalized cross-section is included as Figure B.
Reasonable ranges of values for thickness and width
of the unconsolidated material, coal thickness and
water levels are also on Figure B.
Due to variations in the amount and distribution of
precipitation from year to year, it is difficult to
distinguish between natural yearly variations in
Curtis Creek streamflow and any variations as a
result of mining. Any significant Curtis Creek
streamflow depletions as a result of mining can
best be observed, on the surface, by monitoring for
changes in the established Curtis Creek streamflow
pattern. This monitoring is currently being
• conducted upstream .and downstream of all mine
workings.
Leonard Pose farsrlling Waler Eigineers. Mrt
