• 784.14(b)(1)
Comment: "Include all basic data, assumptions and calcula-
tions; including maps as necessary, so that the
conclusions regarding mine inflow and stream
depletion in v5, Sections G-3.0 through G-4.5 can
be checked and verified. In particular, include: 1)
records of ground water inflow measurements from
areas already mined; 2) all background measurements
and assumptions used to obtain the numbers in
Tables G-25, G-26, and G-27; 3) drill data and
alluvial cross sections, to bedrock, across the
Curtis Creek Valley where each coal seam to be
mined subcrops; 4) information on decreases in
Curtis Creek stream flows and decreased creek
flows; and 5) plans for providing alternate water
• supplies if that becomes necessary because of
subsidence diversions.
"Provide a detailed prediction of mine water
inflows for each mine° through time, on a seasonal
basis, for the life of each mine. In v5, Table G-26
is not detailed enough to be of use in predicting
hydrologic consequences. Flows will vary with time
and distance and this variability should be
addressed for the period of mining. On a map,
identify locations of potential subsidence along
the streams; base the locations on a field
inspection and large-scale aerial photo interpreta-
tion by a competent geologist."
Response: Figures, exhibits and tables mentioned here with a
hyphenated identifier such as G-24 are from the
• June 16, 1980 submission of the original
application. Figures, exhibits and tables labelled
with a single capitol letter refer to new figures
and tables included with this response.
Leonard Rice Coiwillinq Water Engineer. Yic.
