There were no observed
discharges from Outfall 002A during the quarter.
A discharge from Outfall 001A was observed on March 16, 2007, which was a result of
snowmelt runoff raising the water level in the sedimentation pond to the elevation of the
principal spillway. A sample was collected for laboratory analysis. The measured flow
rate was 13 gallons per minute (gpm; 0.019 million gallons per day [MGD]). NGTI
estimates that this discharge rate lasted for 10 days. Discharges were also observed on
March 20 and 28, 2007. These discharges were a result of a faulty principal spillway
structure. The 12-inch Waterman headgate on the barrel pipe is not properly sealed and
is leaking. In addition, water leaks into the barrel pipe through two small holes along the
bottom of the pipe. Measured flow rates were 3.9 gpm (0.006 MGD) on March 20`" and
3.4 gpm (0.005 MGD) on March 28~'. Repairs are planned.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at 307-687-3903 or Mr.
John Weinman, the Certified Operator-in-Charge, at 970-871-6125.
Sincerely, ,
(.
