Since 1976, Summit Pressed Brick and Tile Co. has been extracting
clay from an area in T18S R70W Section 4. The Fremont County
Assessors Office lists you as ar. adjacent land owner. In
1976 the Colorado Legislature passed House Bill 1065 which formulated
new regulations for mineral extraction in the state and provided a
mechanism to insure that reclamation of lands disturbed for mineral
extraction was conducted in an environmentally compatible manner.
These new guidelines are monitored by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation
Board.
In order to provide for suitable reclamation for the area near your
property, Summit Pressed Brick and Tile Company retained our firm
to prepare an environmental study and reclamation plan for their on-
going project. This plan is on file at the Fremont County Clerks
Office and at the Mined Land Reclamation Board. Although no major
change is anticipated in either the extraction mode or rate at the
site and the project has been designated a "limited impact" operation
it is appropriate that you be notified of the filing of the plan
and the proposed action of the Board.
In order to advise others of the continuing activity the following
notice has been published in the Denver Post:
