6'
Mr. Gary Curtiss
Division of Minerals and Geology
December 29, 1997
Page 4
12.) Please find enclosed a draft well mitigation plan application for Phases 2 and 3. A
revised application will be sent to your office later this week: This plan involves the
monitoring of wells of adjacent property owners (those owners interested in well
monitoring) and six monitoring wells within the H.I.B.E. property. By monitoring the
wells in the area, impacts, if any, from the mining operation can be detected. [f a well(s)
is affected, then the well owner will be compensated.
Mining of Phase 1 will be from March to May. Mining will occur for a short period of
time and occurs when irrigation demands are low, therefore, no monitoring wells for this
area are proposed.
13.) Prior [o permit approval; notarized agreements between the operator and the landowners
with structures within 200 feet of the permit boundary or an engineering evaluation will
be provided.
Sincerely,
TUTTLE APPLEGATE, INC.
l ~~~ ~.Lc-fir! - ~2ciC.G-~''~
Molly Orkild-Larson
MOL/sjr
Encs.
cc: File #97-125B
Jeff Gregg, Hall Irwin Construction Co.
