On Pond No. 004 at Seneca, the cracks are not as <br />evident due to the spring thaw. The cracks are silted <br />or "melted". The extent of the cracks will have to be <br />reevaluated once the ground dries and the cracks <br />reappear. If the cracks did not seal over the winter, <br />Peabody would propose excavating the cracks, scarifying <br />the embankment, compacting the embankment back up to <br />grade, and reclaiming the disturbed area.
