• post-mining land uses as both mention ranching within the text. Both also do not
preclude development of other minerals which may be on the property. Mineral
development under the present county zoning requires a Special Use Permit but is
considered consistent with the AF zoning district.
Planned Post-MininP Land Uses
Sun Coal Company plans to return the disturbed areas to post-mining land uses
consistent with the existing and planned uses of the landowners. The proposed post-
mining land use for the Grassy Creek Coal Company parcel is rangeland. The
reclamation plan for this parcel has been developed with this use in mind. Consistent
with this use; Sun Coal has not established significant numbers of woody plant species
on this parcel which might detract from the production of desirable grass and forb
forage for livestock. Reclamation on the Eilts parcel was designed and implemented to
accommodate several post-mining land uses. Adjacent areas of the Coal View Ranch
are used for oil production, recreation, livestock ranching and commercial operations.
In consideration of the landowners wishes, the disturbed area within this parcel is being
returned to a commerciaUindustrial/recreation/range land use.
The post-mining ]and uses proposed are consistent and have not changed from the pre-
mining land uses.

•
Technical Revision 20 -373- Revised 6/96
