Ill Illlllllllllllll Doc Date:12H1/2001
• SECTION 5.0 Topsoil Stockpile Locations
Trapper's approved permit (Section 4.9.2) specifies that the CDMG will be provided with map(s) illustrat-
ing the location of topsoil stockpiles constructed during the previous year and the approximate locations
for stockpiles proposed for construction during the upcoming year. Those maps (5-1 and 5-2) are included
in this section.
These maps were initially revised in 1990 and have been submitted annually in Appendix W updating the
report and map series, as per TR-48. Each update includes the locations of existing stockpiles. Since
1990, Trapper has provided the approximate topsoil volumes (cyds) for existing stockpiles. Table 4.9.2-1
lists all existing stockpiles with their identification nomenclature, a coordinate (based on the approximate
center of the pile), the basal area (acres), an approximate initial construction date and the current approxi-
mate volume; and is updated annually.
At the end of 1993 there were 91 existing topsoil stockpiles at Trapper affecting 192 acres and storing
approximately 4,019,545 cubic yards of salvaged materials.
During 1993, Trapper constructed 12 new stockpiles and added topsoil to four existing piles. Addition-
ally, portions of two existing piles were removed and six piles were eliminated via topsoil replacement.
• The relocation of two stockpiles (MP6 and A8) as submitted and approved in MR-111 was completed in
1993.
The proposed locations (as shown on Maps 5-1 to 5-4) for topsoil stockpiling in 1994 may exceed the
actual number that will be constructed. Proposed topsoil stockpiles and the number of piles constructed
are dependent upon the field conditions that are encountered each reclamation season. Additionally, par-
ticular piles may be depleted from or added to in order to maintain a cost effective salvage or replacement
program during a particular year.
Enclosed are revised permit tables 4.9-3 and 4.9-4 which describe Trapper's overall topsail stockpile
inventory through the 1997 permit term.
IDMG\93REFT51
