Boz 313 <br />Yeetcliffe, CO. <br />783-21y81 <br />lsttcloeed is inforantion which you requested concerning soil sad vegetation <br />inventories for a proposed gravel pit site located in the HE} NH} Sec. 5, <br />- Township 2!~ South, Bangs 71 West of the 6th Principle Meridian, Custer Co., <br />Colorado. <br />In addition to this, I have oleo included ease recommendations for the future <br />reclamation of this same area. <br />The soils here are classified as a Feltonia-Coatis eaady loss complez rith <br />small inclusions of Silver Cliff oobbly sandy loos on the sore steeply eloped <br />areas. The Ebltonia soil, which ocours pore commonly on upload ridges, is <br />lees developed sad has a coarser teztnre than the Coutis soil which is sore <br />prominent is the lower lying areas. In this case, the Coutis Boil is found in <br />that portion of the area vnich is adjacent to Frose Creek. <br />I have included copies of the soil desoription Eros the Caster County Soil <br />Survey as yell ae a construction nateriale table shoring the valve of these <br />particular soils for use as roadfill, gravel, eaad sad topsoil. Both soils <br />prove to be good ^ourees for roadfill material but the Coutis soil is too <br />finely teztured for use ae sand sad gravel. <br />The range site for this particular soil type is a Mountain I,oaa 10-11y" ppt. <br />zone sad the potential native vegetation includes such grasses as Arizona <br />fescue, reatern rheatgrasa, Dlue aroma, aeedleand thread, ~unegraee and <br />mountain mutely as well ae eose Sorb sad shrub species.
