T E - Reclamatio •lan (Refer to A1ap #3) •
In the past 4 years we have excavated approximately 1 surface acre
each year. We are basing our reclamation plan on that yearly basis.
We gropose to work the pit Nortq maintaining the East and Nest banks on
approximately the same lines that exist today. For the next year we ex-
pect to stay South of Fence marked "A" on the Map. In years to come, as
the need arises we will proceed North into the Alfalfa field staying West
of our permanent work area.
During the summer of 1977, we propose to start sloping the banks (green
slanted area on South East and West banks of 4.0 Acre lake) to a slope
of at least 3 to 1. This will be done by use of a dragline and bull
dozer. By means of a carryall, we will strip the overburden off of the
red slanted area. Part of this material will be used to slope t}re banks
(green area). Another portion will be used to level around shop and office
area, and fill in a portion of wash-out pond. (Blue slanted area) The
wash-out pond is arl old gravel pit. This pit was on the property uvhen we
purchased it anc] is approximately 25 years old. As a part of our reclama-
tion plan we propose to eventually fill in the entire pond and level the
area between the fences and Korth of the shop. YJe will then plant Alfalfa
or grass in the area. We also propose to remove existing Barb Wire fence
(marked green IJorth of wash out pond), and replace with 6 ft. high chain-
lirik fence.
The completed banks of the active gravel pit will be plapted with native
Willow trees. These will be easy to start and will grow with a minimum
of water.
As the lake develops and moss and fish food becomes prevelant, we will
plant fish for use of our employees and friends.
This summer (1977) is very dry and the ponds are very low. We may attempt
to dewater the 40 Acre lake and remove gravel from a greater depth. If
this prcves satisfactory, we probably will not open up as much new land as
indicated.
PHASE I - to be completed by July 1, 1978
1. Slope banks as indicted by green slant area.
2. Remove overburden from red slanted area as needed.
3. Place overburden on sloped banks, and fill in a gortion of wash out
pond as indicated (Blue slant).
4. Remove Barb 6'lire Fence and complete chain-link Fence (indicated Green
on North-end of property).
5. Consider the possibility of dewatering the pond and going deeper with
the excavation.
6. Plant fish in the gravel pit if water and feed are adequate.
