1 Redthayne. • <br />The vegetation type is meadow. Tne erosion hazard is moderate, <br />runoff is slow, and flooding hazard is ocasional. The present land <br />use is pasture and hay meadow and the range site is foothills swale. <br />The SCS capability subclass is VIe non-irr. Portions of this unit may <br />be too wet to salvage. <br />Weighted Salvage Thickness by Map Unit: <br />Lift 1: 8 incnes thick <br />Lift 2: 52+ inches thick <br />Total salvage thickness: 60+ inches thick <br />2.2.18 TCD Thornburgh-Castner Cobbly Loams, B to 6U% slopes <br />This complex map unit consists of Thornburgh cobbly loam and <br />Castner cobbly loam on gently sloping to very steep breaks on mountain <br />sideslopes. It is composed of 35% Thornburgh cobbly loam and 25% <br />Castner cobbly loam; inclusions are 25% Uwen Creek ana 15% other <br />soils. <br />The vegetation type is sagebrush-grassland. The erosion hazard <br />is slight to very high, runoff is medium to rapid, and flooding hazard <br />is none. The present land use is range. and w ildlife habitat and the • <br />range site is dry exposure, stony foothills. The S.CS capability sub- <br />class is VIIIe non-irr. <br />Tnese two soils are in parallel families .(loamy-skeletal) of like <br />subgroups (Typic Cryoborolls and Lithic Haploborolls). Because the <br />Castner is shallow it tends to have a greater amount of flagstones on <br />the surface. This map unit typically occurs at topographic breaks <br />below the gently sloping uplands and above the steep slopes. Portions <br />of this map unit may be too stoney to salvage. <br />Weighted Salvage Thickness by Map Unit: <br />Lift 1: 12 inches thick <br />Lift 2: 16 inches thick <br />Total salvage thickness: 28 inches thick <br />2.2.19 TRD Torriorthents-Rock Uutcrop Complex, 15 to 9U%, <br />slopes <br />This miscellaneous land type consists of Torriorthents ana Rock <br />outcrop on moderately steep to very steep east, south and west facing <br />mountain sideslopes. It is composed of 5U% Torriorthents and 3U% Rock <br />outcrops; inclusions are lU% Redthayne and lU% Nihill. <br />l The vegetation type is sagebrush-grassland. Tne erosion hazard • <br />is very high, runoff is very rapitl, and flooding hazard is none. The <br />present land use is range and wildlife habitat and the range site is <br />stony foothills. The SCS capability subclass is VIIe non-irr. <br />24 <br />
