The required fee of
$217.00 for the renewal of this substitute water supply plan ("SWSP") has been submitted (receipt
no. 546472). The original supply plan was approved May 4, 2004.
Plan Operation
This plan seeks to replace depletions resulting from mining operations at the Shores
gravel pit for 2006 and 2007. The depletions that result from the mining operation are
evaporation, water lost in mined product, concrete botching, dust suppression and dewatering.
The proposed replacement sources are reusable water leased from the Town of Milliken, 1
share of Rural Ditch and 5 shares of Kern Reservoir. The leased water is excess augmentation
credits from Milliken's 2005 SWSP, filed under case no. 02CW339. That plan is currently valid
through December 31, 2006
Depletions
Ground water is exposed at the site in dewatering trenches and settling ponds. The
ground water exposed at this site during both 2006 and 2007 is estimated to be 20.67 acres
with an annual depletion of 59.54 acre-feet. All ground water at the site was exposed after
December 31, 1980.
The remaining uses at the site are water lost in mined product, water used for concrete
botching and water used for dust suppression. The plan specifies that for both 2006 and 2007,
22.06 acre-feet of water will be removed in 750,000 tons of mined product, 3.31 acre-feet will
