<br />• <br />• <br />Southfreld Mine Minor Rr~ision Request No. 20 -South Fan lnstailation • l4 <br />Construct and Install Fan Housing, Fan and Associated Components <br />Upon completion of all necessary preparatory work, EFCI will modify, as <br />appropriate, existing foundation structures and construct/install the <br />ventilation fan, drive motor, control equipment and fan housing. Any <br />necessary modifications will be designed and constructed to provide <br />effective support for fan components and to effect full compliance with <br />applicable MSHA provisions under 30 CFR 75.300. <br />The fan housing will be a fabricated sheet steel enclosure mounted on the <br />exterior foundation structure. The housing will be a maximum of <br />approximately 20 feet wide, 20 feet long and 6 feet high, will be configured <br />to provide the appropriate fan offset as specified by applicable MSHA <br />regulations, and will include explosion doors or diffuser panels and an <br />access door for fan inspection and maintenance. The fan housing will <br />connect to the portal structure and the exterior of the housing will be <br />enclosed to provide an airtight seal. <br />The fan shroud, fan, drive motor and related control and monitoring <br />equipment will be installed within the fan housing on appropriate foundation <br />structures. The fan will be an American Standard 60-inch centrifugal fan, <br />belt-driven from a 50 Hp, 480 volt electric motor. <br />The fan will operate continuously except for scheduled maintenance during <br />mine shut-down periods and will be inspected daily in compliance with <br />applicable MSHA regulations. Maintenance will include lubrication of fan <br />and motor components, inspection and replacement of belt drives, and <br />testing and repair of control and monitoring systems as necessary. Fan <br />pressure readings will be recorded during the daily inspections and <br />explosion doors/diffuser panels will be inspected at least monthly. <br />ACZ /nr. • P.O. Bar 774018 • Sieamboa!
