Box 411 Delta, Colorado 81416 <br />The Colorado Division of Wildlife does hereby find, to the hest of our <br />knowledge, that the impact of the proposed mining operation on wildlife <br />will he <br />X minor <br />moderate <br />major <br />Mfna Location: Part of SW~, SEi Sec. 11, T. 15 S., R. 96 W., 6th P. M. <br />Wildlife Species List: (may he attached) <br />Mule Deer Cottontail Rabbit Canada Goose Misc. Raptors <br />Pheasant Raccoon Misc. Ducks <br />Gambel's Quail Beaver Misc. Songbirds <br />Endangered Species Impacted: <br />None known of <br />Assessment of Impact on Wildlife: <br />until the pit reaches maximum size. <br />the wildlife that is displaced. <br />This operation will destroy some habitat <br />Surrounding habitat should be able to absorb <br /> <br />Mine Reclamation Recommendations: (may be attached) Pits left to flood from <br />the natural water table should retain a 3:1 slope. Adequate protection from flood- <br />ing by the Gunnison River should be provided by dikes constructed from available <br />waste. Where possible, islands should be left in the pit(s) for use by nesting <br />waterfowl. No reseeding or plantings would be necessary. <br />Prepared by George H.
