Also, an approved seed mix for the shrub establishment areas has <br />been used in combination with other methodologies to meet the <br />requirements of Rule 4.15.8. Table B shows this alternative seed <br />mixture. <br />The high rate of seeds per square foot is simply a result of the <br />large number of species in the mixture. As mentioned above, the <br />individual species have been selected to ensure quick erosion <br />control to ensure immediate stabilization of the topsoil as well as <br />long-term stability of the site. None of the individual seeding <br />rates are excessive, nor is the seeding rate per acre excessive for <br />drill seeding. <br />The introduced species are included in the mixture because they are <br />necessary to control erosion and provide forage for wildlife and <br />livestock. <br /> <br /> <br />2.05-43 <br />
