July 27, 1993
Chip Huffman
Utility Superintendent
City of Cripple Creek
Box 430
Cripple Creek, CO 80813

RE: Driveway Permit Request for
Midland Gravel Permit
Dear Mr. Huffman:
Your request for a Driveway Permit for access to the proposed
Midland Gravel Pit off Teller County Road #61 has been approved
pending approval from the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division
and Teller County Commissioners regarding Conditional Use Permit.
The location has been agreed upon by both parties at the top of
a knoll so that it is visible to oncoming traffic. Two signs will
be required to warn traffic of "trucks turning" to further the
safety for the public traffic. There will be no need for
significant construction for the driveway access as this will be a
widening of an old road in the same location. The 24 foot wide
driveway will be adequate for your truck hauling/entering the
County road. There are no power or utility lines to be considered
in association with this project as they are situated along the
Highway approximately 1/4 mile to the South of the site.
There is no damage anticipated by the mining plan for gravel
beside the County road due to the terrain.
Sincere ,
Claude Thomps n
Teller County Road Supervisor
cc: Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division
