EXHIBIT B
Site Description
The site is located in the S W'/4 of Section 26, T7N, R47W of the 6th P.M. in Phillips
County, Colorado, and is approximately 175' wide at its narrowest point widening out to
350' at its widest point; and approximately 1800' long.
SOILS INFORMATION
The following soils and vegetation information was obtained from site observations
and the basic soils and vegetation information contained in the Phillips County, Colorado
Soil Map.
NONTECHNICAL SOILS DESCRIPTION REPORT
Map Soil name and description
Symbol
Wages-Eckley-Dix Complex
Wages-Eckley-Dix occupies azeas along intermittent drainageways,
principally Frenchman and Patent Creeks. These sofls aze so intermingled
that it is not practical to map them separately.
Included with these soils in mapping were nearly level to moderately sloping
soils on stream terraces and channel bottoms. The channel bottoms aze
shown on the soil map by a symbol for drainage. Also included were small
azeas where the soil is shallow over gravel and calcazeous throughout.
About 60 percent ofthis complex is Wages soils, 18 percent is Eckley soils,
and 12 percent is Dix soils. Each kind of soil has the profile described as
typical for its series. The rest of the complex consists of azeas of Platner and
Ascalon soils. In hazdland or sandy land azeas, the Ascalon soils occur on the
south banks of the streams and Platner soils aze at the upper edges of side
slopes.
These soils take water at a moderate to rapid rate. Where they aze shallow,
their capacity to hold water is limited. If rains aze heave, runoff is
considerable and causes rill erosion. Also, extra water from runoff frequently
concentrates and floods the Dix soils. Erosion control dams could be built to
control this water.
