Dept. of Natural Rzsoarces
FROM: HAL D, SIMPSON, CHIEF, WATER MANAGEMENT BRANCH
SUBJECT: ELAM CONSTRUCTION - VAGNEUR PIT, PPfKIN COUNTY,
APPLICATION FOR MINING AND RECLAMATION PERMIT
As requested by your office, we have reviewed the application for a
gravel pit near Aspen, The proposed operation will have very little
effect on the prevailing hydrologic balance or on adjudicated water
rights .
The report in Exhibit G states that a well will be constructed at the
site to meet the water needs of the gravel pit. A search of our records,
however, does not show any well permit applications for the operation.
At this time, the applicant would not have any difficulty in obtaining
the needed well permit. We recommend approval of the mining permit
with the condition that the applicant obtain his well permit prior to
proceeding with the gravel pit project.
gK.k~C.
