De
Denver, Colorado 80203 pt. of Pla~ul'al F;;,s~~rces
Dear David:
Please be advised that I have received and reviewed your
October 25, 1978 comments relative to Adams County's Minin~c
and Reclamation Plan: Debetz Sand and Gravel Pit. After con-
ferring with Mr. David Tortorelli - the Adams County Parks
Superintendent who will be responsible for implementing the
Plan, we concur with, and will effect, most of your recommenda-
tions.
Although not explicitly mentioned in the report, page B-2
indicates that the overburden is to be removed and stockpiled.
That "overburden" will include topsoil, will be segregated and
stored on site, and will be stabilized with a seed mixture in
accordance with your recommendation. In addition, we have mod-
ified our topsoil replacement level from 3-6 inches to 6-12
inches to be in alignment with your suggestion.
Relative to the "Reclamation Plan Section," Mr. Tortorelli
will conform to the seed mixture recommendations that were pre-
sented in your letter. He is planning on utilizing the broad-
cast method for seeding. At this time, in accordance with your
offer of assistance, we would appreciate receiving a written
cost estimate for the proposed seeding regimen, utilizing our
total acreage figures and your seed mixture proposals, so that
we can modify the revegetation cost estimates for the "Reclam-
ation Plan Section." I see no problem in adhering to the re-
quired slope depth of 10 feet; that modification, as well as
the others that are proposed in this letter, will be reflected
in a plan revision.
Finally, since augmentation is not required by State law,
the Adams County Board of County Commissioners has not required
augmentation for pits within the County geographic boundaries.
If and when this becomes a requirement, the Board of County
Commissioners will comply with any such requisites.
