simultaneously providing vegetative cover that enhances erosion and sediment control.
'Therefore, seed mixtures will normally include species that create suitable wildlife
habitat and browse. Potential revegetation species meeting these selection criteria that
may be used in seed mixtures are listed in Section 7, Table 5 of the Reclamation Plan.
Permanent revegetation seed mixtures will preferentially emphasize the use of native
plant species, with introduced species being used as necessary for special-purpose
plantings and as approved by the BLM. BLM requests for the use of specific species
will be honored to the extent that adequate plant cover is expected to be established for
erosion control and to the extent that such requests are reasonable.
E.2.2 Reclamation Methods for Facilities and Structures
As indicated in Section E.1.2, reclamation of the processing facilities at the Piceance and
Parachute Sites would only take place at the end of the project in the indefinite future,
and reclamation of these facilities would be consistent with applicable requirements in
effect at the time.
In general, buildings would be demolished and debris removed from the site. Any
permanent foundation structures, such as concrete pads or footers are anticipated to be
buried in place or demolished and buried, as appropriate. If buried, such structures
would be covered with at least 2 feet of soil, and the area would be graded to conform
to the natural topography. Salvage of re-useable materials is also a possibility for
structures at both the Piceance Site and the Parachute Site.
E.2.3 Pipeline Corridor Reclamation Methods
Reclamation of the pipeline corridor will occur immediately after pipeline installation.
Reclamation and revegetation methods are fully detailed in the Pipeline Reclamation
Plan provided in Attachment 1 of this exhibit.
E.3 References
Water and Earth (Water and Earth Technologies, Inc.). 1998.
