The primary concern of this agency about
this project is the potential for depletions to the surface stream system resulting from subsidence
induced by mining. The DWR would like to review the applicant's plans to control and minimize
ground movement in areas underlying or adjacent to surface streams. We would especially like
to review the potential for interactions between previously mined areas and areas which are to
be mined under the current lease application. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Respectfully,
- ~ ~.~~I~
Steven A. Joliat
Geologist, Division of Water Aesources
•
