DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES III IIIIIIIIIIIII III
D. Monte Pascoe. Exec ulive Director
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
DAVID C. SHELTON Director
R~cha ro D. Lamm
Governor
MEMORANDUM ~r.~-~
~PB~A`pril 1983
T0: Jim McArdle \
FROM: Jim Pendleton ~
RE: Exxon's "Low avi ulch Interim Settlement Monitoring Program"
Pursuant to your request, I have reviewed the submittal made by
Exxon in response to our recent comments regarding the stability of the
lower Davis Gulch excess fill mass at the Colony project. Exxon proposes
a slope stability survey monitoring program to verify the stability of
the existing fill mass during the Interim program. Five survey monuments
have been installed and will be surveyed on a monthly basis to determine
whether any detrimental movement might be occurring. Exxon commits to
the monthly submittal of the survey monitoring results to the Division.
This program is acceptable as proposed. As I mentioned in my memo to you
dated February 18, 1983, with the installation of these monuments and the
initiation of the monthly survey monitoring it is appropriate to dAem
stipulations 1 through 3 placed upon the interim plan as satisfied.
cc: Joe Zalkind
Doc.
