Outfalls 001, 002 and 020 <br />discharged routinely throughout the quarter. Outfatls 011, 013, 017, 021 discharged in response [o spring <br />snowmel[ surges occurring in early February and March. Outfalls 005, 008, 009, 012, 013, 014, 015, 016, 018, <br />019, 022, 023 and 024 did not discharge during the quaver. Values reported on the enclosed DMRs represent <br />the maximum (or minimum as applicable) monthlyldaily values generated at each outfal] during [he quarter. <br />Also enclosed are monthly NOAA weather summaries for the reporting period and WET test report forms as <br />applicable. Three outfalls were sampled for WET analyses during the quarter. Two species acute tests were <br />completed at outfalls 011, 020 and 021. No exceedances of WET test limitations were observed at any tested <br />outfalls. No mine water was discharged through outfal) 017; therefore no WET tests were conducted at this <br />outfal). <br />All active outfalls experienced two intense spring runoff events during the quarter. Starting February 6th and <br />continuing for several days, the site warmed drastically from subzero temperatures into the mid 40's. This <br />warm period combined with fair snow pack on the site and frozen soil conditions resulted in an intense snowmel[ <br />event. The March event was in relationship to the final melting of the winter snow pack on the site during a <br />warming period starting March 5'" and continuing through the remainder of the month resulting in increased <br />runoff and unseasonably warm weather The enclosed NOAH weather sutnmary reports show the temperatures <br />and snow depth measurements for the period mentioned. Daily precipitation measurements are recorded at 7:00 <br />a.m. as well as daily maximum and minimum temperatures from [he previous 24 hours. <br />Primary effluent limitations were exceeded on two outfalls, (011 and 017) for TSS and Total Iron parameters. <br />The altema[e limitations will be applied to outfalls 011 and 017 due to the nature of the snowmelt events. <br />Samples were taken at each outfal) during routine weekly monitoring. On two separate occasions intense runoff <br />and snowmelt occurred during the quaver. Above average temperatures and moderate snow pack melting <br />contributed to the exceedances in February. Frozen ground caused the snowmelt event to be exaggerated in <br />terms of surface runoff. The March event followed the final melting of our snow pack on the site and the <br />increased runoff associated with that event. Samples taken on February 13, 2007 during routine weekly <br />monitoring resulted in and exceedance of TSS and Total Iron at outfalls 011, and 017. Also samples taken <br />March ]3, 2007 showed an exceedance of TSS at outfal) Oll. The alternate limitations for Settleable Solids, <br />applicable in the event of discharge caused by precipitation (or snowmel[) less than or equal to the 10-year, 24- <br />hour precipitation event, was met at all outfalls.
