Identification, Classification acid Standards /dentifica[ion: Discharges to Deer Trail Ditch, which is unclassified. The ditch is tributary to the North Fork of the Gunnison River, which is within segment 2 of the Nort[t Fark of the Gunnison River Sub-basin of (Ite Gunnison and Lorver Dolores Rivers Basin. The point of discharge is approximately one mile from the confluence between the ditch and the North Fork of the Gunnison River. The permittee has submitted written authorization from the ditch owner to discharge into Deer Trail Ditch. It should be noted [hat this authorization specifies a maximum flow of 11,500 gallons per day. This CDPS permit authorizes flows in excess of this amount. Issuance of this permit is in no way intended to supersede or take precedence aver the written agreement behveen the ditch owner and the permittee. 2. Classification: Segment 2 is classified for the following uses: Recreation, Class l; Aquatic Life, Class 1 (cold); Water Supply; Agriculture. 3. Numeric Standards: TTte standards which have been assigned in accordance with the above classifications can be found in Classifications and Numeric Standards for the Gunnison and Lower Dolores Rivers Basirt (5 CCR 1002-35), as amended April 13, 1998. /t should be noted that this facility, at present, does not discharge pollutants which are limited by water quality standards with the exception of those shown below. Additional parameters will be evaluated at such time as the permittee requests an amendment to incorporate the domestic WWTF. Physical and Biological pH = 6.5 - 9.0 s. u. Quality data are available jot the North Fork of the Gunnison River. CDPHE station 000152, located approximately 1.5 miles west of Somerset, CO, upstream of the point where the Deer Trail Ditc/: enters the river, are available for the period from 10/95 through 8/96. A total of l9 samples were analyzed for total recoverable iron. The results varied from 0.045 to 7.7 mg/P, the mean of these results was 1.699 mg/P. Tltis value wi116e rounded to 1.7 mg/Ffor use in calculating potential water quality-based effluent limitations. 2. Quantity. Acute and Chronic Low Flows: The flows which will be used to calculate acute and chronic effluent limitations are the one day in three year low flow (1 E3) and the 30 day in three year [ow flow (30E3) respectively.
