t'
Battle Mountain Gold Company
June 8, 1989
Page 2
' as Spring No. 8, and is located in the southern tributary to Rito
Seco on which our surface water monitoring station RS-3 is
located (Figure 1). The stream flow in this tributary is
periodically measured during our field site visits at station
RS-3, which is located downstream of the spring. The flow in
' this tributary was originally gaged as part of our monitoring
program in October 1987, with a measured discharge of el gallons
per minute (gpm). Flow has been periodically measured since
' October 1987, with successive measurements showing a steadily
declining flow, to a measured low of 11 gpm in May 1989. we
would judge that this continuing decline in the flows at Spring
No, a are related to the drought conditions which have been /
experienced in this area since the initiation of our field data
collection study in the fall of 1987.
' If you have any questions regarding the data obtained during our
spring survey, please feel free to give me a call.
Yours truly,
Bruce A.
