~II II~II~II~II~~ I~~
Tpl~ ~~
United States Department of the Interior
BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT
LITTLE SNAKE RESOURCE AREA ~ ~
12801NDUSTRIAL q~C 3600 (170)
CRAIG,GOLORADO 81625 CO-010-4-224
May 23, 1989 ~ `
Mr. Dan Hernandez
Mined Land Reclamation Division
215 Centennial Bldg.
1317 Sherman Street
Denver, CO 80203-2273
Dear Mr. Hernandez:
" . ~ ~~`~
~..

We are currently working on a potential trespass case involving Mr. Leon
Fedinec and a dimension stone quarry. We understand Mr. Fedinec has a
permit (numbered M-77-057) from the State of Colorado covering his
operation (T.6N., R.90W., Sec. 19: lot 5, 6th P.M.). We request a copy of
the State's casefile for this permit.
We understand there is normally a charge for duplicating such a file. We
request that such a charge be waived in the spirit of cooperative working
relationship. In the past, our respective offices have transferred
information and material without a charge. We would like to continue this
position.
The quarry is on lands which the Federal Government reserved all minerals
when the surface patent was issued. At this point in our investigation no
authorization, from the Federal Government, has been found authorizing
development and removal of mineral material. Therefore, Mr. Fedinec may
not have a legal right of entry to mine and remove this mineral estate for
commercial purposes.
If you have any specific questions, please contact Steve Bennett or myself
(303) 824-4441.
Sincerely,
David Bray
Acting Area Manager
