RE: June 5 Letter from Bradford Jones, File /IM-77-519
Item ll3
It is anticipated that topsoil will be reapplied to affected lands to
be revegetated at a depth of at least 6 inches. Existing topsoil stockpiles
were reviewed in the field and appear to be sufficient in quantity to pro-
vide for at least the six-inch depth stated above. As Phase i progresses
there will be little if any additional topsoil to be removed in the mining
process. Any such material encountered will be stored in one of the exist-
ing topsoil stockpiles for use in the reclamation process.
Inadvertently, a part of the soils report from the Soil Conservation
Service was omitted from the initial application. I[ is enclosed with this
submission and should be included as part of Exhibit I.
Item X16
Final delineation and detail of the pond shoreline will be determined
as a part of development plan for the post-mining recreation land use. As
this final land use will be reviewed upon completion of mining by the Routt
County Planning Commission further input from the Division of Wildlife can
be obtained at that time to enhance the wildlife and aquatic habitat.
Item !IS -- Revised Reclamation Costs
Major Disturbance (one acre maximum) includes slope reduction on pond
banks and limited active mine area:
Backfilling 2500 cu yds @ $ .70/yd $ 1,750.00
Grading 1614 cu yds @ $ .80/yd 1,291.20
Topsoiling 405 cu yds @ $ .65/yd 263.25
$ 3,304.45
~ Moderate Disturbance includes 3.0 acres of parking/plant facilities and
/ access road which will remain after mining operations and not be Further
/~, 09. reclaimed There is an additional 4.5 acres of moderate disturbance which
lµ will be reclaimed as mining progresses:
Rippingjscarifying 3.5 acres @ 1/ac/hr @ $50 $ 175.00
Grading 1614 yds> 1 ac, $ .80/yd 1,291.20
Topsoiling 807 yds/ac, 4.5 ac @ $ .65/yd 2,360.50
Seed @ $125/ac )
Fertilizer @ $50/ac) $300/acre 1,350.00
Mulch @ $125/ac ) $ 5,176.70
