I}Er~~
This office has reviewed the information provided in your correspondence of
February 25, 1993 concerning the purchase of the above mine from Peabody
Coal.
• A search of our files has revealed that the mines in question have been
surveyed for cultural resources and that no significant sites were
identified. Therefore, we find that there will be no effect to cultural
resources by continued use of the area for mining.
If previously unidentified archaeological resources are discovered in the
course of the project, work must be interrupted until the resources have
been evaluated in terms of the National and. State Register eligibility
criteria, in consultation with thisoffice-.
If we may be of further assistance, please contact Jim Green at 866-4674.
Sincerely,
~~ ~y:
James E.
