[0-00001244 <br />BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES PROGRAM: <br />The permittee shall, within 90 days after [he effective date of this permit, <br />submit to the Colorado Water 2uality Control Division, a Best Management Practices <br />(BMP) program. The BMP program should be prepared by a professional engineer <br />registered in the State of Colorado. The BMP program shall address the permittee's <br />ancillary activities '.ncluding plant and mine site runoff, tailings, and waste <br />disposal areas. <br />Proposed modifications to the BMP program which affect the discharger's permit <br />obligation shall be submitted to [he Divisicn for approval o[ least 180 days <br />prior [o any change. <br />If the BHP prooram proves to be ineffective in achieving the general objective <br />of preventing the release of significant amounts of toxic or hazardous pollutants <br />to waters of the Stale of Colorado, the permit and/or the BMP program shall be <br />subject to modification to incorporate revised BMP requirements. <br />The BMP Program shall: <br />1) Be documented in narra;ive form and shall include any necessary plot plans, <br />drawings or maps. <br />2) Establish specific objectives ror the control of site runoff. <br />3) Address control and treatment of all runoff from any area within [he permit[ee's <br />project area which is disturbed or affected by the permittee's activity. <br />4) Show and discuss specific runoff controls including the constructi~~n of berms <br />ditches, and diā¢rersions and treatment of such runoff prior to discnarge. <br />5) Discuss runoff control specifically for the Waste dump and the ore sorter. <br />2 <br />r <br />
