vegetative growth and productivity. Therefore, the burden of proof should be on the project
proponent to guarantee that AWC Nursery will not be harmed.
6. Project proponents and applications:
a) fail to mention or offer to conduct fixrther groundwater studies.
b) avoid mentioning potential mitigation measures.
c) The groundwater report results by WWE were not peer reviewed, are not
comprehensive, are speculative at best, cannot be supported by good hard data
and therefore misleading and incomplete.
The AWC nursery operation is part of a larger registered Colorado Corporation. It
maintains an existing native tree, shrub and herbaceous inventory of two million plants. Trees
and plants are sold wholesale for all types of environmental reclamation projects. The nursery
averages approximately 14 employees. _ _
Based on the incompletely prepared and documented permit applications, the Aquatic and
Wetland Company, Nursery Operations strongly opposes the Heit Gravel Mine and strongly
encourages the state MLRB and County Commissioners to deny the project at this time.
Sincerely yours,
~~~ ~. ~
John T.
