Mr. Tom Schreiner
June 25, 2007
Page 2
~~
CIVIL RES'7JURCES, LLC
Secondary Drinking Water Standards (SDWS) were exceeded for Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) (612
to 1,296 milligrams per liter) consistently across the site, and chloride exceeded SDWS at 252 mg/L
in CRMW09, which was the same concentration in the December 2006 sampling event. It should be
noted that the chloride concentrations of CRMW09 were not considered in the establishment of the
proposed chloride baseline levels due to a limited number of sampling at that time and should be
revised in this years annual report along with the other parameters and wells included with this
years sampling plan. Sulfate concentrations exceeded the SDWS by 5.21 and 7.25 mg/L in wells
CRMW02 and CRMW09 respectively. The remaining SDWS parameters tested for including pH
and Iron did not exceed the SDWS. Additional parameter test results and the summary of all
laboratory analysis results are contained in the attached table.
Figure 1 shows the location of the monitoring wells and the groundwater elevations measured during the April
sampling event. Groundwater contours have been drawn on the figure also based on these measurements.
The gradient is northwest toward the South Platte River. The results of this sampling event are consistent
with anticipated results when the GWSAP was developed. Further sampling will be completed in July
consistent with the approved GWSAP unless the baseline water quality report is approved with the
modifications presented to the GWSAP.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
CIVIL RESOURCES, LLC.
Joseph A.
