Doc Date:12/11/2001
~~ 999
S
~~2.05.3(7) Coal Handling Structures
• The coal handling facilities are shown on Exhibit O, and
their locations are identified on Exhibit KK. The equipment
consists of a crusher, screen, and necessary feeding and
stacking conveyors to process the coal. All equipment will be
mobile, and other equipment to be used will be a front end
loader and dump truck. This processing equipment will be
portable and can be moved by tractor-truck or tractor-trailer
combination. The equipment will be properly operated and
maintained by qualified mine personnel. Coal will be crushed
and possibly screened only. Washing the coal is not being
anticipated.
Coal will be hauled to the processing area by truck or
• front end loader, using the designated haul roads in the pit
area. Whon the Phase 2 pit operation begins, raw coal will be
hauled across Engleville Gulch using a low profile, crossing
at the south end of the pit area. Haulage will not take place
while water is in the stream bed, or during rainy weather.
Similar crossing have already been in use for some time. The
mine itself will not operate during inclement weather unless the
ground is frozen.
There are two coal stockpile areas shown on Exhibit KK.
The smaller one is located north of the crusher area and ties to
the coal waste pile left from old Guadagnoli underground mine to
the south. The coal to be mined in the initial cut of Phase 1
has little cover and the upper two or three feet of this coal is
• 1
