CONDITIONS FOR APPROVAL
® The proposed operation does not anticipate exposing groundwater. Therefore, exposure of ground
water must no[ occur during or after mining operations.
® The proposed operation will consume ground water by: ®evaporation, ^ dust control, ^
reclamation, ^ water removed in the mined product, ^ processing, ^ other:.
Prior to initiation of these uses of ground water, the applicant will need to obtain either a gravel prt
or other type of well permit, as applicable. However, prior to obtaining a permit, an approved water
supply plan or decreed plan for augmentation is required.
^ Prior to approving a well permit, the applicant must conduct a field inspection of the site and
document the locations of all wells within 600 feet of thz permit area. The applicant must [hen
obtain a waiver of objection from all well owners with wells within 600 feet of the permit area or
request a hearing before the State Engineer.

COMMENTS: If s[oiTriwater runoff is intercepted by this operation or after reclamation, and it is not
diverted or captured in priority, i[ must be released [o [he stream system within three days. This may require
a discharge permit from CDPHE-WQCD. Otherwise the operator will need to make replacements for
evaporation.
The reclamation plan involves leaving depressions. The operator must ensure no ground water is exposed ill
the pit during mining, or in the reclaimed pit, by maintaining the lowest elevation of the pit or depression a[
least 18" above the highest local level of the water table.
The applicant indicated the operation would use water for aggregate washing operations from the City of
Colorado Springs. The applicant will need to ensure that the operation obtains this water from a properly
decreed source for such industrial uses.
