The average annual precipitation is abou~ <br />12 inches, average annual air temperature is about 53 percent L., <br />and the frost-free season is about 16b days. Slopes are pearl}~ <br />level to gently sloping. <br />Typically, the surface layer is brown loam about 7 inches thic}:. <br />The underlying layers are brown, Dale brown and light yellowish brown <br />loam and fine sandy loam to a depth of 60 inches. <br />Included are small areas of Fort Collins loam, 0 to 2 percent <br />slopes and Kim loam, xater table phase, 0 to 3 percent slopes. Kim <br />sandy loam also included. <br />Permeability of the Kim soil is moderate. Available water <br />capacity is high. rtunoff is slow, erasion hazard is slight. <br />N`ost of the acreage is cultivated. Hay and pasture are the <br />chief crops. 1~iany other crops are groV~n including fruit, ccrn and <br />vegetables. <br />Under good management the Y.im soil is very productive. All <br />crops are irrigated and best yields are obtained with fertilization. <br />Y,im soil is well suited for development.
