1 <br />EASTSIDE MINE <br />Ga~eld County, Colorado <br />Quarterly Sediment Pond Inspection <br />RECEI~lED <br />APR 16 2001 <br />Division of Minerals 8 Geolooy <br />On February 10, 2001 an inspection of the sediment pond, Sediment Pond SP-l, located <br />at the Eastside Mine, Eastside Coal Company, Incorporated, Garfield County, Colorado was <br />conducted. <br />This inspection satisfies the requirement of Rule 4.05.06(1 l)(b) of the Colorado Mined <br />Land Reclamation Board. During the inspection, the sediment pond was examined for any <br />visible cracking or other deformation of the embankment and any areas where seepage was <br />- observed. No visible cracking or-deformation-was noted. No erosion around the spi Ilway or the - - <br />embankment was observed.. <br />There was no sediment except for a minor amount at the inlet in the pond at the time of <br />inspection. This sediment is a result of discharlnng the mine water into the pond during active <br />mining.
