Dear Ms. Lenkey
Enclosed, please find the above referenced June Crscharge monitoring report (Dh1R) for the period June 1, 2002 through June
30, 2002. During this period, only ponds A (Outfall 001), 8 l0utfall 003), end E (OuHell 006) discharged to Foldet Creek.
Pond H (Outtall 009) discharged to Middle Creek. No permit excursions were noted for the June 2001 period. Outtall 001
discharged each week of ilia period Outlalls 003 and 006 discharged only during the first week of June. Oudatl 009
discharged only during the first Iwo weeks in June.
Ouarlerty Whole Effluent Toxicrty (WET) fasts were conducted for Oudalts 005 and 00T in April 2002. These tests indicated
Ihat ilia effluent were not acutely toxic fo GaphNa magna survival Note that the preprinted DMRS Indicate a composile•3
sample type, however the acute WET test only requires a single Arab sample. A written request to correct this has been made
to Mc Chris Gates.
WE7 tesbng Irom Outfall 007 was acutely toxic W Daphnia magna survival during first quarter 2002 sampling. Two
subsequent consecutive accelerated tests in the first quarter of 2002 were also acutely toxic to Daphnia magna survlvat. As a
result, preliminary toxicity ideniiGcation (PTI) testing was performed during the second quarter of 2002. Tha second quarter
lest suggested that the earlier IoxiUly could hnve been due to cationic or C~ssolveC metals or total dissolved solids. It should
be noted that the effluent from second yuaner test was not acutely toxic Ie Daphnia magna survival
OuNalls 002. 004, and 008 did not discharge: and therefore had no chemical tests during this period. Outfall 020 has not bean
constructed yet;therelore there is no discharge to enable chemicaltesling td dale. Points 010, 016 and 017 have been
eliminated }rom This permit. In order to reduce the amount of paper work. the following certification will be substituted for the
actual DMR forms to cover ilia outlalls, which did not drscharge.
