Coal Stockpiles
Currently Trapper Mine has one coal stockpile. This is a small stockpile available to employees in which
a relatively small amount of coal is stored and is frequently removed. The current employee coal
stockpile is located along the Cott pit haulroad draining into No-Name Gulch. Future employee coal
stockpile relocation will warrant correspondence and an appropriate map (M13A) to the Division during
the calendar year of stockpile relocation.
Drainage from all coal stockpiles flows through sedimentation control structures, as discussed in Section
4.8.
Drapline Repair Pads
In 1990, Trapper replaced the tub assembly on the Queen Anne dragline located in B/C pit. To accom-
modate this effort, a pad was constructed to facilitate contractor and Trapper employee working space.
The tub pad was constructed at the intersection of our B/C pit haulroad near an existing ANFO silo
(Map M13A). The pad encompassed approximately three acres. A 70-ft x 70-ft, 8-inch thick concrete
pad was constructed within the three-acre area. This concrete pad was converted to a waste oil and anti-
freeze accumulation site in 1994.
In 1998, Trapper will replace the tub assembly on the Molly Brown dragline located in Derringer pit. A 76-
• ft x 70-ft, 8-inch thick concrete pad will be constructed at the north end of Dertinger pit. A steel rail
assembly will be installed adjacent to the concrete pad to facilitate the removal and replacement of the
dragline tub assemby. The entire tub assembly site will be located wthin existing Derringer pit
disturbance. When repairs to the dragline are completed, current plans are to break up the concrete pad
and dispose of the concrete and cribbing material in the pit. The steel rail material will likely be solo as
scrap. Should a future decision be made to convert the Derringer pit tub assembly site into a mine
storage or other facility, an appropriate revision application will be submitted to the Division.
3.8.2 Utilities (Trapper Mine)
Powertines and Substations
The powertines that deliver power to the draglines and electric overburden drill are rated at 69 KVA. The
voltage is reduced to the required voltage for each machine at portable substations in the field. These
lines and substations are currently in good condition and are inspected regularly.
The power lines and substations require movement as the pits progress. The substations are moved
several times a year and consequenty are not shown on the maps. Each substation pad has topsoil
removed before a substation is moved onto it. The topsoil is replaced when the pad is no longer needed.
The power distribution system is shown on Map M13A.

3-184
APR 2 7 1998
MR -i~r
