Box 699 <br />HAFFEE Salida, Colorado 81201 <br />OUNTY 719-539-2218 <br />OLORADO <br />lanuary29, 1999 RECEIVED <br />FEB U 1 1999 <br />Mine Land Reclamation Boazd Division of Minerals & Geology <br />Department of Natural Resources <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denier, Colorado 80203 <br />RE: Hard Rock Paving Gravel Pit Permit # M-77-195 <br />Dear Sir: <br />It is our understanding that Hard Rock Paving and Gravel is in the process of updating and revising there <br />permit on a sand and gravel permit on the comer of State Highway 291 and Chaffee County Road 150 <br />northwest of the City of Salida. <br />We have been told that there is a small amount of water which seasonally runs out of this gravel pit into a <br />ditch on the north side of CR 140 and though a culvert to the west of this pit. <br />The Board of County Commissioners and the Road and Bridge Department could not foresee any negative <br />impact to the county road and we believe the existing culvert is fully adequate to handle the present <br />discharge of water from this gravel pit. <br />Hard Rock Paving and Gravel has been an asset to both county government and the community as a <br />whole.
