To <br /> • the south is a sand and gravel site owned by another company <br /> and to the east is City of Boulder open space currently used <br /> for grazing. <br /> In the past the land was part of the Deepe Farm; the land <br /> was grazed. Sand and gravel mining has occurred at three <br /> locations in the area: the Flatiron operation in the <br /> northwest and the Eagle operation to the south have both <br /> been active within recent years. Part of the proposed <br /> site was also a sand and gravel mine; the existing lake <br /> • was excavated to produce gravel for the original paving of <br /> U.S. 36. Settling ponds and plant site were north of the <br /> lake. The . land in this part of the site has been heavily <br /> disturbed. <br /> A-3 <br />
