McCall,
Administrator
A review of the Portland Quarry application indicates that considerable
information is needed to correct or otherwise clarify the application. The
following is an outline of the items requiring additional work.
I. Acreage of Affected Lands
1. Page 2 indicates a change in acreage from 1,146 acres to 1,588
acres. The cover letter references an addition of 210 acres. The
difference between the figures above is 442 acres. This must be
corrected.
2. The concrete quarry is shown on Exhibit B, page 2, does not appear
to be within the Ideal property boundary. I assume this is the
210 acres referenced in the cover letter. Also, all exhibits
should include references to this quarry area.
3. Refuse dumps associated with the plant have been included in the
permit application. The plant area has been omitted. The plant
area should also be included in affected acreage. (Given the
location of the plant and inclusion of the refuse dumps.) Will the
pr o41~.rwu• r•rnoo+dl
sandstone and limestone and overburden be mined~in benches? If so,
what lifts and terraces? (dimensions)
June 6, 1978
