Box 536 <br />Pueblo, Colorado 61002 <br />tel: (719} 5465403 <br />Fax: (719) 546-5414 <br />November 25, 2003 <br />Robert Lucero <br />200 E. 1" street, #104 <br />Trinidad, CO 81082 <br />RE: SUP-03-040 -Leone f~ravel Pit Special Use Permit <br />Dear Mr. Lucero: <br />w <br />/.~ ~ ~ <br />SH 160 <br />Las Animas County <br />The Colorado Department of Transportation has reviewed the information submitted requesting <br />approval for a new gravel pit located in part of the SEI/45E1/4, Section 33 and SWl/45W1/4, <br />Section 34, T. 325., R.63W., 6th P.M. in Lns Animas County. We have the following comments: <br />• The CDOT has received nn application for access permit for the 56-acre sand and gravel <br />operation. The application was received on November 20, 2003 and is currently being <br />reviewed for compliance with the State Highway Access Code. By law, the CDOT has 45-days <br />from receipt of a complete application to either decry or approve the access. Las Animas <br />County Planning will be sent a copy of either the denial letter or the access permit upon <br />completion of the review by CDOT. <br />• Drainage to the state highway right of way shall not exceed the undeveloped historic rates. <br />'All rates in excess of historic shall be detained on site and released at historic levels. <br />• On-premise and off-premise signing shall comply with the current Colorado Outdoor <br />Advertising Act, sections 43-1-401 to 421, C.R,S., and all rules and regulations pertaining to <br />outdoor advertising.
