PART I
Page 9b
Permit No. CO-0044776
B. bIONITORING REQUIItEhIENTS
3. Biosolids Parameters fcontiued)
e) Records (continued)
(ii) Records of monitoring information shall include the: 1) date, enact place, and time of sampling or
measuremenu and the initials or name(s) of the individual(s) who performed the sampling or measuremei
2) date(s) and times analyses were performed; 3) initials or name(s) of individual(s) who performed the
analyses; 4) references and written procedures, when available, for the analytical techniques or methods
used; and 5) results of such analyses, including the bench sheets, instrument readouts, computer disks or
tapes, etc., used to determine these results.
(iii) The permittee shall retain records of all monitoring information, including all calibration and maintenance
records and all original strip chart recordings for continuous monitoring instrumentation, copies of all
reports required by this permit and records of all data used to complete the application for this permit for
the life of the permit. Data collected on site, copies of Biosolids Report forms, and a copy of this permit
must be maintained on site during the duration of activity at the permitted location.
C. DEFINITIONS OF TERMS
I. "Composite" sample is a minimum of four grab samples collected at equally spaced two hour intervals and
proportioned according to flow.
2. "Continuous" measurement, is a measurement obtained from an automatic recording device which continually
measures provides measuremenu.
-;x
3. "Daily Maximum limitation" means the limitation for this parameter shall be applied as an instantaneous maximum
(or, for pH or DO, instantaneous minimum) value. The instantaneous value is defined as the analytical result of any
individual sample. DMRs shall include the maximum (and/or minimum) of all instantaneous values within the
calendar month. Any instantaneous value beyond the noted daily maximum limitation for the indicated pazameter
shall be considered a violation of this permit.
4. "Grab" sample, is a single "dip and [aloe" sample so as to be representative of the pazame[er being monitored.
5. "In-situ" measurement is defined as a single reading, observation or measurement taken in the field at the point of
dischazge 92 analyzed in the laboratory within a short period after collection, as specified by approved methodology.
6. "Instantaneous" measuremen[ is a single reading, observation, or measurement performed on site using existing
monitoring facilities.
"Quarterly measurement frequency" means samples may be collected at any time during [he calendaz quarter if a
continual dischazge occurs. If the dischazge is in[ertaittent, then samples shall be collected during the period tha[
discharge occurs.
8. "Seven day average" means, with the exception of fecal coliform bacteria, the arithmetic mean of all samples
collected in a seven consecutive day period. For fecal coliform bacteria, it is [he geometric mean of all samples
taken in a seven consecutive day period. Such seven day averages shall be calculated for all calendaz weeks, which
are defined as beginning on Sunday and ending on Saturday. If the calendaz week overlaps two months (i.e. the .'
Sunday is in one month and the Sarurday in the following mondr), the seven day average calculated for that calends ..
week shall be associated with the month that contains the Saturday. Samples may not be used for more than one
reporting period. (Not applicable to fecal colifotm determinations.)
Amendmen[ No. 1 Issued ~ ~/ ~ ~ '1 Effective '"
